These terms govern your use of the Unfair trading platform at unfairtrading.cc and all related services. By using Unfair, you agree to these terms.
Unfair is a quantitative equity research and trading platform that synthesizes public market data into automated trading signals. The platform generates position-sizing recommendations and can execute paper and live trades through connected brokerage accounts (currently Alpaca).
Unfair is a tool, not a financial advisor. All trading decisions are automated based on quantitative signals and pre-configured risk parameters. You are solely responsible for your trading activity and any financial outcomes.
Access to Unfair is by invitation only. You must submit an access request and be approved by an administrator. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, including your password and two-factor authentication credentials.
You must provide accurate information during registration. You may not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
To execute trades, you connect your own brokerage account (e.g., Alpaca) to Unfair. Your brokerage credentials are encrypted using AES-256-GCM and stored securely. Unfair never has direct access to your brokerage funds — all trades are executed through the brokerage's API using your credentials.
You are responsible for maintaining sufficient funds in your brokerage account. Unfair is not responsible for brokerage fees, commissions, or any losses resulting from trades executed on your behalf.
Trading securities involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. Past performance of Unfair's signals, backtests, or trading strategies does not guarantee future results. Backtest results are hypothetical and subject to inherent limitations including survivorship bias, look-ahead bias, and model overfitting.
Unfair includes risk management features (position size limits, sector exposure caps, drawdown circuit breakers), but these do not eliminate the risk of loss. You may lose some or all of your invested capital.
Unfair is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, or financial planner. Nothing on this platform constitutes investment advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security.

All content on Unfair — including signal algorithms, backtesting methodology, trading strategies, and platform code — is the intellectual property of Jason Shearer unless otherwise noted. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Unfair's proprietary methods.
Unfair depends on third-party services (Alpaca, Supabase, data vendors) and market conditions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Signal generation, trade execution, and data feeds may be delayed, interrupted, or unavailable. We are not liable for losses caused by service interruptions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unfair and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to trading losses, missed opportunities, or data loss.
Unfair is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee specific trading outcomes, returns, or signal accuracy. No representation is made that any account will achieve profits or losses similar to those shown in backtests.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or at our discretion. Upon termination, your brokerage credentials are deleted and no further trades will be executed on your behalf. You remain responsible for any open positions in your brokerage account.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Hinds County, Mississippi.
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of Unfair after changes constitutes acceptance.
